As teachers are supposed to look after the total development of children and their performance is the most crucial input in the field of education, their training should be adequate to stimulate the socio-cultural and moral development of the child. Hence an immediate breakthrough is necessary in our teacher education programme, so that it can meet the challenges of value crisis among our younger generation. In teacher training colleges, value oriented teacher education must be given to the teacher trainees in an effective manner to meet the need of the society. The investigator conducted a study to find out the impact of teaching value education as an elective paper for student teachers in teacher training college and to find out its influence on their attitude towards need for value Education for them.
