In order to meet the growing list of demands, continuing professional development is crucial for elementary school English teachers. This research will mainly discuss online professional development for English teachers. First of all literature reviews will be focused on the criteria for well-accepted English teachers and types of online professional development for English teachers. Secondly, what kinds of online training courses and what types of online professional development have been offered for English teachers in Taiwan ? Next, what are the effects of online training courses and professional development sources on English Teachers? Furthermore, are there any discrepancies between online training and professional development sources and criteria on well-accepted English teachers? Finally, the results will provide an online professional development model for English teachers, language programs, educational policy-making bodies, and teacher training institutes and universities, to improve the quality of English.
